What this is

Article 19 India Network is an informal, non-partisan network of local groups, students, professionals and diaspora hubs responding to events in India. It exists to connect isolated efforts, share verified information, and make solidarity visible: one action in one city becomes part of a wider, lawful and peaceful response.

The network is named after Article 19 of the Constitution of India, which protects freedom of speech and expression, peaceful assembly, and association. It is non-partisan, non-sectarian, and non-hierarchical, and it works strictly within the laws of each participant's own jurisdiction.

How we work

Non-partisanOpen to all ideologies and affiliations; the network amplifies events, not agendas.
Lawful and peacefulListed actions take place peacefully and within their organisers' own jurisdictions.
Flat and lightMinimal bureaucracy; admins exist for safety and spam only.
Check, then circulateListings name their source and organiser; corrections move fast.
People over storiesNo personal details of at-risk individuals are ever published.

Send us an event

Know of a gathering, vigil, fundraiser or call that belongs on this list? Send it in with the date, place, organiser and a link or poster. Items are checked for the basics before they are added: what, where, when, who.
